Greetings families of all the 3rd graders at New Covenant Academy!
My name is Sabrina Marinchak and I am eagerly joining the Elementary Department as the new 3rd grade teacher. Thank you so much for having me and I look forward to watching your children grow and learn all that they can for God's glory.
Alongside the Elementary Department, I am teaching all subjects: Social Studies, Science, Math, Spelling, Language Arts, Writing, and Bible. I am very excited and grateful to have the privilege to teach Bible as I have only had experience teaching in public schools, where teaching the Bible is unheard of and frowned upon. It is truly a joy to be a part of a team of staff who come together to love, serve, and teach students who have a common goal for Christ.
I look forward to getting to know all of your children and through God's great grace making an impact on their lives for our precious heavenly Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank you all for your encouragement and support with starting the school year in December. Please contact me if you have any questions at email@example.com.
This week the 3rd graders are learning about the planets, the sun, the moon, and our entire solar system. In math, they are using colored tiles to decompose a larger number into a smaller more manageable number when multiplying by using the distributive property. In Science, students are leaning about how the length of their shadows change according to the placement of the sun in the sky and the time of day.
Students are working on researching an early explorer to California in Social Studies. They are also learning about timelines and how they can be used to trace major events in California's history of mapping and claiming land here.
